Responsibilities
A chair must demonstrate their support of the university at a level that exemplifies leadership and is consistent with the visibility and recognition they will receive throughout the life of the reunion gift campaign. They speak passionately about Yale and are well-known and respected by their classmates. Many successful reunion gift committees are co-chaired by three to five class leaders. Additional responsibilities include:
- Recruit a gift committee of 25 to 30 classmates
- Identify and help connect staff to classmates that are reunion gift prospects
- Act as the voice on all campaign communications (postcards, letters, emails)
- Collaborate with Yale development staff to lead regular committee conference calls
- Solicit selected classmates, including members of the reunion gift committee
Benefits of Service
Serving on the committee is a great way to not only learn about and support Yale’s highest priorities, but also to reconnect with friends and build relationships with other classmates you may not know as well. As a chair, you will be recognized for your role in helping Yale reach its most pressing goals.
